Security and Storage

System security and quality control/quality assurance are essential elements of our information management designs. Electronic data storage is available in a variety of forms. We produce our own CD/DVDs, containing the database information, as well as the images of the documents themselves.

We customize the storage and security of our clients systems according to their individual neets:

  • automatic backups
  • timely distribution
  • uploads to client servers

Case Study:

Since 1989, Heritage has been providing historical and information management services for a confidential client involved in one of the nation's largest Superfund sites. The work effort focused on collecting, organizing, analyzing, and presenting information that identified and quantified mining and mineral processing activities that caused the current environmental problems in Western Montana.

Documents collected were first duplicated in hard copy for the client. A few years later, microfilm was the media of choice for imaging the collection. Still later, document scanning and DVD backups were made available on request. Distribution via email became the method of choice. Now in our 18th year on the project, we store over 40 file cabinets or more than 350,000 pages of original paper and photographs for which our client pays rent for use of our space. At any time we can access the originals for a first generation copy or scan as needed.
