Document Processing
Information technology specialists at Heritage use time-tested methods to create efficient document processing system for our clients. As researchers submit documentation collected for a project, it travels through several steps:
- Unique identification numbers are applied either electronically or manually
- Documents are scanned and saved in a format approved by the client
- Original documents are stored in locked file cabinets in a secure storage space until released to the client.
- Images are burned onto CDs or DVDs and sent to the client with backups preserved at Heritage.
For those clients that want their documents fully indexed, we offer optical character recognition (OCR).
